A minor accuses Nepali Cricket Caption Sandeep Lamichhane of rape

A minor kid has accused Nepali cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane of rape on the same day that actor Paul Shah was given a two-and-a-half-year prison term for abusing children.

A rape allegation against Lamichhane was received by District Police Range Kathmandu on Tuesday, according to AIG Rabindra Singh Dhanuk at the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, who verified to our reporter of the information.

The girl has had a health checkup and is currently under police protection.

Sandeep Lamichhane has been the subject of a rape complaint. It’s a complaint from a child, and I’ll elaborate on it tomorrow, Dhanuk said to reporter on Tuesday night. The victim’s physical examination was also completed this evening.

Other police officers at the Nepal Police Headquarters, Kathmandu Valley Police, and Kathmandu Police Range have all verified receiving the Lamichhane rape accusation.

According to a source at the Police Range, the 17-year-old girl has claimed that Lamichhane sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in Kathmandu on August 21, the day before Lamichhane left for the bilateral series with Kenya. According to the girl’s allegation, she traveled to Nagarkot with Lamichhane on August 17 after meeting him through a friend.

Lamichhane led the squad to a 3-2 victory in the five-match Twenty20 series against Kenya before departing to play in the Caribbean Premier League. The Nepali squad was then led in his absence throughout the one-day matches by Rohit Kumar Paudel.
